The Cheshire Cat

The Cheshire Cat from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is to me, one of my favorite literary characters of Lewis Carroll. The Cheshire Cat's conversations with Alice are at times vexing but almost always leave a reader with a sense of amusement. The Cheshire Cat seems to have many different philosophical viewpoints in which to make Alice and the reader ponder for a moment. The nice thing about the Cheshire Cat is that when heads are about to roll, he appears (literally) and saves the day. Most people will recall his vanishing act until just his grin remains.
